High Density VNA Pallet Racking From GLOBAL Storage

Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) pallet racking takes the structure of traditional pallet racks but integrates guide rails on both sides of the aisle floor. These rails, made from unequal angle steel, require specialized high-reach forklifts to navigate along the tracks. With aisles slightly wider than the pallet itself, VNA achieves high-density storage while maintaining 100% selectivity—all goods can be accessed by forklifts at any time. Product Introduction
Very Narrow Aisle Pallet Racking (VNA) takes pallet racking as main structure, but with guide rails installed on the two bottom sides of the aisle. The guide rails are made from unequal angle steel. Specialized high forklifts are needed to slide along guide rails. The aisle is slightly wider than pallet to realize high density storage. VNA succeeded the advantage of pallet racking: all goods are 100% selective by forklift trucks at any time. High access efficiency and high density brings high productivity and cost benefit to VNA logistics center.

Remark:
VNA aisles are much narrower than aisles of ordinary pallet racking with the width approx. 1600mm-2000mm, which largely improved space efficiency. VNA requires skilled drivers of special forklift rotating trucks to be more careful.

Guide rails for VNA are approx. 200mm high, which can be set during civil work or during racking installation with protect plate. With guidance of the rail, accident risks can be reduced and the requirement of driving skills is also lower than drive-in pallet racking.

Fire suppression and seismic need to be considered. Hard wearing and very flat floor designed for heavy static / live loads are required.

Compared to Double Deep Pallet Racking:
Double Deep Pallet Racking has lower beam with operation height 8m. It offers medium inventory flow, 50% pallet access and 42% land utilization and is applied to warehouses with low pallet selectivity. Double deep pallet racking comes from heavy duty pallet racking with same simple structure but doubled storage space. Double deep pallet racking is the best choice for tabacco, food, drinks, packaging industry.


Double deep pallet racking stores two pallets deep, or four pallets deep in a double entry rack with warehouse utilization rate 42%. The aisles of double deep pallet racking are designed according to forklift, which is double deep handling type to reack the deeper pallets. With two pallet racking close to each other, which is same as deep pallet racking, VNA system can improve warehouse utilization with approx. 20%. But VNA system requires special forklift which means more cost. The biggest difference between VNA and double deep pallet racking is they use difference forklifts, and double deep pallet racking stores two pallets deep in a double entry rack with no guide rails.
